What were you trying to do?
use an xterm
What's wrong:
xterm's were dying on startup. Even xterms that were started
as "xterm -e ls" or "xterm -e telnet". Normally, I'd think it was my
dotfiles that screwed something up, but I hadn't modified my dotfiles
any and sometime the xterms die and sometimes things are fine.
When they die, the die as soon as I log in and last until I logout.
Sometimes repeatedly logging in and out fixes it, generally not,
though. Rebooting generally will let you log in with things ok, but
not always.
What should have happened:
xterms should have stayed until I logout or exit from them.
