The important thing (IMHO) to point out was that the telnet from the
krb5 locker does not have this problem, but negotiates linemode
successfully.
I think this problem is potentially moresubtle than the bug report
suggests, since it doesn't happen with me using /usr/athena/bin/telnet
on a Sun. Yonah was using /usr/athena/bin/telnet on an SGI.
