Hi, I've read your bug report. Remote xdm ("mkserv xterm") has always
been a semi-functional service that we don't feel we can support very
well; we did put together a Solaris port that works (we think) as well
as the Decstation port did, but we never had any plans to make it work
completely. So I thought you deserved to be told that it's unlikely
that we will get around to fixing this problem, especially since it
looks like it might require changing some of the assumptions our xdm
makes. If you can find someone to look into it on your side and
submit a patch, we are of course willing to review the patch and
commit it if it looks okay.
If it's a big deal to your department, you can talk to Bill Cattey
(wdc), and he might be able to allocate resources to fix the problem.
