I'm not sure what you mean here -- perhaps you are using an nntp
server other than news.mit.edu?

In trn, you can add a new header line of the form
From: rushlyn@mit.edu (Loretta Pioch)
or whatever happens to be required for the desired behavior of their
authorization system.
