Install procedures not documented?

It seems a bug that the procedures for reinstalling
client workstations don't seem to be documented
anywhere that I can find (the bootkit locker
comes to mind, but...).

In particular, tonight we attempted to reinstall
opus, an SGI in the sipb office, and the only instructions
we could scrounge up:

        halt the target machine
bring it up and enter the command monitor
        setenv diskless 1
        setenv netaddr network_address_of_client
        setenv SystemPartition "bootp()server_name:"
        setenv OSLoader unix
        init
        start the machine up

don't seem to work. bootp forwarding is enabled for the 18.70 to both
kick-me and pepe-lepew; enabling manual forwarding on some other
machine (to pepe-lepew) doesn't help -- pepe-lepew doesn't seem to
answer the bootp requests.

It occurs to me that if I wanted to reinstall a DECstation I'd
be hard-pressed to remember the necessary magic to make it boot.

A Sun, I think I could manage, but with the recent changes, perhaps
not :-)

Thanks.
