A user came into the SIPB office because he was unable to log
into SGI's in the w20 cluster. He had tried logging into several
and they all failed. He would get logged in, but with / as his
homedir and none of his customizations would be run. No error
message was printed in the console about being unable to
attach his home directory.

After logging in, attach run manually succeeded at attaching
his home directory.

The problem had started when the user set the permissions on
his home directory to system:anyuser none. Adding system:anyuser l
permissions back to his home directory allowed him to log in normally.

I verified that the same thing happens when I set my homedir to
system:anyuser none and log into opus (the SGI in the SIPB office).

There was a similar problem with Linux about a year ago.
I think Derek figured out what it was and fixed it.
I can't remember offhand what the cause was.
