What were you trying to do?
Run Matlab.
What's wrong:
Matlab requires a lot (~3.5MB) of free space in the partition
where /tmp lives.
What should have happened:
Matlab should take up no disk space, no memory and no CPU cycles.
If it can't do that, the decryption wrapper should at least
choose a reasonable directory for most Athena machines. The
root partition is often close to full; /var/tmp would have
been much more useful, IMO.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
/afs/athena/astaff/project/slw/src/dec-exec.c should probably
call tempnam instead of tmpnam.
