------------------------------------------------------------------------
synopsis:
get_message: Command not found.
Error message when trying to get message of the day. (Apparently new
release -- 6.0R? but as a result it doesn't admit to being updated)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
detail:
On E25-131-6 (IBM RT), Monday 11/21/88 21:00, server caduceus
File "/srvd/site/usr/athena/lib/init/login_misc" line 16 reads:
/bin/athena/get_message -new -zephyr
No such command exists. Perhaps its name has been changed to gmotd (which
seems to take no arguments)?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Repeat by:
login to workstation with a "new" (as of 9/88) .login file which sources
the above file.
Or, type "source /usr/athena/lib/init/login_misc"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fix (if you know what it is):
Change to the ?new "gmotd" command in the above file, or alternatively, put
the ?new get_message command in /bin/athena/.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kinda sloppy if you ask me, to get an error >on login<.
-- but otherwise a great release! Thanks! My software all works!
