1. Has Pure produced a release of Purify that can read it correctly?
It's definitely been fixed in Purify version 3.0.1 (of which I have a
beta release running on my workstation). I don't know if it's fixed in
Purify version 3.0 which is what we have installed in /mit/pure.
2. Has the incompatibility been fixed in the latest Cygnus releases?
I realise that 1. may mask 2., but even if the Pure folks produce a work-
around, Cygnus should be informed that there is a problem; I don't know
if this has been done.
I think it has, but I'm not sure. If I remember correctly, whatever
channel by which we're supposed to officially inform Cygnus about bugs
never managed to forward the bug to them. However I told them
unofficially, and if I remember correctly several months later I was
told that other customers had reported this bug, and that it was fixed
in their latest release (which we were not running at that time).
It's probably fixed in the Cygnus 95 Q2 release (however at the moment
the default release in use is Cygnus's 94 Q2 release). I believe this
is slated to change once the term is out.
