On the "Purify is incompatible with the output of Cygnus's ar and ranlib
formats" problem- it looks like Pure is saying "their formats are wrong
(for SysV) but we'll adapt Purify anyway to read it"; two questions:
1. Has Pure produced a release of Purify that can read it correctly?
2. Has the incompatibility been fixed in the latest Cygnus releases?
I realise that 1. may mask 2., but even if the Pure folks produce a work-
around, Cygnus should be informed that there is a problem; I don't know
if this has been done.
