What were you trying to do?
There is a program in the postscript locker called epsffit. I
was trying to use it to rotate a figure. I'm not too familiar with the
command, so I just copied this possible implementation of it and tried
it out:
athena% epsffit -r 36 36 576 756 plotoutfile.ps newplotfile.ps
What's wrong:
I get the error message:
/mit/postscript/sun4bin/epsffit: syntax error at line 2: `(' unexpected
Actually, I'm a consultant and I was helping another user, and he got
the same error on a RS6000 (IBM).
What should have happened:
It should have worked properly and rotated the file. On a DEC
station, the command runs smoothly. I actually didn't take a look at
the postscript pictures to see if the command also did what I asked it
to do, but at least it ran smoothly.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
This is in reaction to user wtbaily's question in OLC about
graphics. There is another instance of it not working in tkyu's
question about maple in OLC. (Log number 918)
