Frame stores temp files in AFS homedirs?

Today I noticed a Frame problem that I'd been bitten by a few
times before, but don't recall having reported.

It seems that Framemaker tries to write some sort of temporary file in
one's AFS homedir while spooling to a print queue. It doesn't seem to
matter whether the file one is printing is in AFS or in /usr/tmp
or whatever -- freeing up about the size of the file in one's locker
allows printing again.

As you might imagine from the above description, I haven't spent a
lot of time trying to track this down...
