Ticket file deleted when dm restarted

I am logged in on tty0, a serial port, on panic, a RISC/6000
320 running AIX 3.2.5 and Athena 7.7H. This also happened previously
on pickled-herring, then a RISC/6000 320 running 3.2.3E with the 7.7
release in the public clusters.

In order to get rid of the X server, I sent dm a SIGFPE per
the man page; this worked OK. However, when I killed dm to get it to
restart and create a new xlogin it deleted my ticket file. It didn't
delete anything else from /tmp; my windowgram port was still there,
and so was some files I had placed there.

PUBLIC is set to true on the workstation, but I am not a
remote connection, and if I'm reading the documentation right, I
should not have been disturbed. Either way, I should have been
totally disconnected and removed from the password file, or left
alone; inbetween doesn't work.
