Actually, I was telnetted in to athena.dialup, because I couldn't
reproduce the bug on the workstations.

The comma does not belong there. The address comes to me as

<mkiefer@worldcom.com>
Note that this is, in fact, two lines. The workstations
translate that properly into a single space, but the
dialup machines add a comma, and clearly the first
address is not valid.
What should have happened:

Does anyone read or reply to these things? I asked about
this problem before and got no reply. Admittedly, I hadn't
narrowed down the culprit at that time, but still.
