You fixed up the installing of tex lib files to use synctree....
This is fine, however, what you are syncing from has permissions which
are not world readable (AFS issue).
Now, I have no idea how the recursive read only is supposed to be setup,
but the Makefile doesn't appear to be doing it..... What is changing the modes?
I could not find anything anywhere - was this a hand hack job?
Synctree is not useful as the umask is set to 2 in wisk.sh.
I suggest a chmod +r for all the directory heirarchy after the install....
