The only purpose upgrading it would accomplish is, a couple of
releases forward it would be "broken as to be unusable" again. Athena
is not (and shouldn't be) in the business of updating the packs every
time FSF releases something, and it's bound to get out of date.
Therefore, I personally think it's a better idea to just leave
volatile style files (texinfo, thesis template, etc.) in various
lockers. [A compromise solution might be installing a symlink in the
packs pointing to texinfo.tex, but that sounds really ugly to me.]
