What were you trying to do?

Drawing in Autocad 12 (on an IBM 320 station) and trying to make use of a "grid"-setting with different X and Y spacing. 


What's wrong: The autocad manual tells me that to have this different gridsetting I first should type in the X spacing and then the Y spacing. The problem is that the program automatically resets the Y spacing equal to the X spacing. This is what should happen if you only give the X-spacing, but it should not happen if you I type in both spacings. I have used a pc-based version of acad12 and never encounterd this problem. 


What should have happened:
A different X and Y spacing of the grid.
