Actually, the question about what display you are using comes from the global
login file (/usr/athena/lib/init/login) which is sourced on login, not from a
program like /bin/login. Normally, you get that file from AFS system packs,
but on the dialups, the system packs are local. It would be possible to
change the script on the local copy on the dialups, but in the interest of
trying to run software that is as standard as possible on the dialups this has
not been done.
I will consider that change for next update of the dialups, thanks for the
suggestion.
