The problem with the RISC/6000 hanging is one in the kernel, as you have
probably guessed, and one that is not likely to be fixed in the near future.
Possibly a later AIX patch release will fix this problem (we do have a couple
of patches that we have yet to figure out how to distribute to the clients).
For now, I have marked your bug as "vendor-wait" since we cannot fix the
problem ourselves. I still need to develop a test plan by which I can submit
the bug to IBM, since it may possibly involve the way we start up the X
server.
