Athena Release 7.6 has broken LPD with respect to directly attached printers
to servers. Specifically, servers with the mkserv option "print" run on them
and have serial printers directly attached will not work.
The problem is with code in the LPD sources. A temporary fix should be
made available, and the mkserv "print" script in the mkserv locker should
obtain the binary out of the locker and not from the packs. You will be
updated when the fix is available.
The following platforms are affected; Ultrix (DECstations), AIX (RS6K),
Solaris 2.x (SPARCclassic, although workstation privatization is not yet
available on this platform).
