I would rephrase this to:
Gnome should probably consider something like this, in order to offer
a consistent interface for the choosing of a binary. If they did
settle on some sort of interface, then there are some places where
Athena would use it.
Much as I might like to, Athena does not have the resources to affect
a major change in the way that GNOME works. At the same time, I would
like to think that our opinion might be heard. If AUI's audience in
the outside world would like to suggest some place that such
suggestions might be heard, that would be helpful.
