To CVS or not to CVS

A question of policy:
There seem to be a couple of pieces of random software installed in
the aui locker that are not in the CVS repository. I would like to
stop doing this if possible, so that AUI looks as much like what we
are going to release onto the world as possible (presumably we want
everything that might go into the release to be in CVS).
I propose creating a new locker aui-test (or some other name if there
is one) for pieces of software we are trying out. This would also not
be a production locker, etc, etc. It would assume that aui is attached
and that sort of thing.
Thoughts, concerns, personal attacks?
