I'll be bringing a short topic to Owls:
AUI and a Dash follow-on.
There are many implications if the Athena User Interface decides to do
more than just support Dash as it currently exists. I have asked the
folks who are working on this to coordinate with Owls and other relevant
stakeholders even as the prototype is being DESIGNED.
As we know, Athena users surveyed reported having trouble finding
things. The AUI teamis considering something that will go beyond Dash,
but will be more generic and compatible with Pismere. Making it easier
to keep menus up to date and coordinating with "What Runs Where" are
known issues.
The students working on the AUI prototype are drafting a design
document. Alas, it was not in shape for public viewing in time for this
weeks Owls meeting.
So I'd like to just jam myself onto the agenda and talk about where this
is going, and give people a heads up, and prepare the way for Owls
people to see and thing about the design document when it's ready.
(Expect it to be ready in a couple days.)
