We're already diverting gdm.conf in debathena-gdm-config in order to
change the graphical theme and to set UserAuthDir to /tmp. We can't
divert the same file in two different packages.

Maybe. There's an argument for leaving the fuzzball in to emphasize the
collaborative nature of the project yadda yadda happiness and puppies,
at least for the fall preview release.

Making gdm.conf and/or the theme variable at runtime would nicely solve
both problems, but I haven't thought of an easy way to do it.
