Having gone through the process of upgrading an unsupported feisty machine
to gutsy, I assure you that it is not fun at all. The upgrader needs to
download packages from both feisty-backports and gutsy, and there aren’t
any mirrors that have them both (feisty-backports is on
old-releases.ubuntu.com). I ended up having to set up my own “mirror”
using an Apache proxy, repointing us.archive.ubuntu.com to it in
/etc/hosts, and switching over the pool/ directory at just the right time
during the upgrade process. Do not try this at home.
