My test was on meadow, which is an HP. However, again, it only demanded a
paper size for the job printed from cups, not the job printed for lpr.
Does anyone have a test to contradict my result?

It was not the intention of my last email to provide one. I am trying to
point out that the printer issue is _separate_ from the tex-config issue,
and it is my intention to address the tex-config issue in a separate
thread after clearing away the confusion related to the printer issue.
After all, even if you get your way and we wind up with
debathena-tex-config installed on every last computer in North America,
there is nothing to stop a student from downloading a PostScript or PDF
document from Europe, printing it to an Athena printer, and forgetting
about it.
