You're referring to the behavior where an A4 job is submitted,
the printer recognizes it has no A4 paper, and stops and prompts
the user on the LCD panel asking them to select another paper size
to use or abort the job?
I don't believe that behavior is wrong or a bug. It is sometimes
inconvenient, but it is also sometimes quite handy.
