I used Debathena with Xandros (a Debian derivative) on an Eee PC early
last term, and it worked fine, so I suspect the same is true of Linux
Mint. I'd be interested to hear your experiences with Linux Mint, although
it wouldn't be a development priority.
To clarify a bit on the release date, the "Debathena Beta" verbiage refers
more to the Athena 10 project, i.e., rolling it out on all cluster
systems. The software has been released for personal machines and in use
since around 2007.
