Hi Antony -
We've never heard of anybody using Debathena with Linux Mint. Since
Mint appears to be very heavily based on Ubuntu (it looks like they use
Ubuntu's packages by default in most cases), it seems like it should
work fine, assuming you line up the right Ubuntu release with the right
Mint release. We'd certainly be interested in hearing about what sort of
problems you run into, but this is probably one of those cases where, if
it breaks, you get to keep the pieces.
As for the "release date", Debathena doesn't really have a release date
- development is more or less always ongoing. Most development currently
is focused on the rollout of Debathena to the Athena clusters across
campus. There are approximately 20 cluster machines around campus that
are currently part of the "Debathena Beta" program, and Debathena should
be deployed to all of the Athena cluster workstations some time this summer.
