Group 101 in particular is "mit". Can we renumber mit ahead of renumbering
the users? It seems changing a group is much less effort than changing a
user ID, in regards to local files.
It's also an AFS group containing all MIT IP addresses. I don't know how
much work that is to renumber -- one option would be to re_name_ 101 to
"mit-ip-range" or something, and renumber "mit" high, and never use
mit-ip-range as a UNIX (NSS) group. This wouldn't address the AFS gids,
but those aren't as important.
This would reduce the spew significantly, since everyone's default group
(in Hesiod passwd entries) is "mit", but other conflicting UIDs/GIDs are
much rarer.
