I would like numbers for several reasons. There are a few
things that I wanted to do. One of which was to keep track of
fields. It turns out that you can do this with
$number_of_fields rather easily, so that wasn't a problem. I
also at one time was going to see just how many syslog messages
I typically got from given sources, but I could not do that
easily.
I could name more relatively unimportant reasons why number
would be nice.
I suppose you can implement them in the current language as
being strings with given lengths. Is there a length function?
If so, then string concatinatino and the ability to to remove
the last character would do........
