Greetings:
I am trying to setup zephyr on our local sun
network. I down loaded the tar file
and compiled it. My dir looks like:
% ls
INSTALL README config.cache
configure install.sh
Makefile USING config.guess
configure.in lib
Makefile.in acconfig.h config.log
doc server
NOTES aclocal.m4 config.status
ensure-dir.sh zhm
OPERATING clients config.sub h
The binaries are there in the /usr/local/bin and
/usr/local/sbin
I have initiated the following processes:
% ps -elf | grep z
8 S aalavi 21422 1 0 40 20 ?
207 ? Feb 11 ? 0:00
/usr/local/sbin/zhm maple
8 S aalavi 28780 28625 0 45 20 ?
117 ? 13:23:03 pts/5 0:00 grep z
8 R aalavi 20451 1 59 78 20 ?

/usr/local/sbin/zephyrd

The following lines have been appended in the
/etc/services
zephyr-clt 2103/udp #
Zephyr serv-hm connection
zephyr-hm 2104/udp #
Zephyr hostmanager
zephyr-hm-srv 2105/udp #
Zephyr hm-serv connection
I am using my machine as the server for testing
purpose and am trying to send
zephyrgrams to myself. In other words, I am using
the same machine as server
and client for testing purposes:
% zwrite aalavi
test message
.
^C
NO message shows up. I have read the
README/OPERATIONS/INSTALL/USING files
but cant figure out whats wrong. I am running
solaris 2.7 on Ultra 5.
Can you help ?
