Hi folks,
i've finished a 90-minute session with the nice helpnet folks.
They were receptive and friendly. BrioQuery resolved their disquiet about
being able to print logs in usable layouts.
I have some notes and questions now...
a.) is it possible to search for a range of values within a field
in QBE? That is, all logs from some date to another date?
They were partly thinking Brio-style report generation, but I can
see they also want to be able to get Results Set based on a range.
b.) they really want a NetInstall category. That category now exists in
Filemaker and they use it to distinguish installations from other
helpnet business routinely. Is there a strong reason not to activate
that call Category? (the record exists in the category table -- it's
just marked inactive now.)
c.) they'd like to rename the Close button on the Network Child window to
something like "Dismiss Network Window" -- is there a reason not to
do that in r1.1?
That's it from their side of the fence. Two of the team are big mac users.
The lack of sorting in Results Sets on that platform is a setback.
