Scopus Implementation
Date: August 23,1996
Working On Milestone:
- Beta phase continues with multiple releases, testing, and assessment
of work required to complete this phase.
- Waiting for feedback on 1.0b4 release and start of acceptance testing
(1.0b5 release) week September 9th.
Accomplishments:
- Production machine (team-usa.mit.edu) arrived 8/16 and unpacked 8/19
- Release 1.0b4 completed on 8/16, testing to begin week 8/19
- Completed research into Data Probe and presented demo to team
- Created prototype on history field searching
- Decided to postpone acceptance testing until week Sept 9th
- Continued with proceeding to write business/programmer documentation
- Organization/cleanup of tooltime/AFS locker space
Goals:
- Revise schedule for completion of beta test and deployment
- Resolve design issues and implement history search
- Plan next steps on InformTEAM implementation
- Assess feedback from 1.0b4 team testing, plan changes for 1.0b5
- Continue with production machine install - including Oracle
- Complete first draft training document
Issues:
- Outstanding Macintosh problems, Scopus duplicated problem against our
database. Waiting for a reply. Sent mail on August 7, received reply
that engineering is aware of problems, no new information. Issues
numbers are: 11337 (characters disappear in child entry fields),
11338 (sorting column headings of result sets), 11339 (printing issue).
- InformTEAM (for generation of automated business rules) needs problem
resolution. Mail sent to Scopus, need follow up.
Notes:
- Testing of 1.0b4 slowed down partly due to competing with "start of
school" tasks.
- Decided to move from Solaris 2.4 to 2.5 due to issues with RAID
configuration.
