Scopus Implementation Meeting August 23, 1996

Attending: Lee, Smyser, Sousa, Wade

Agenda:

1. 1.0b4 testing update

2. History search

3. Documentation strategy

4. Testing strategy

5. Next Meeting and Proposed Agenda
-----

1. 1.0b4 testing:

   - There was no feedback (which was the original purpose of this meeting)
as Peter Ragone (who apparently did some testing) was not present, Rob
Smyser did not have time to test. Other tooltime members we not
      available to attend this meeting.

    - The testing feedback has been postponed until the Tuesday 8/27 meeting.

2. History search:

   - Brett has demonstrated via Tcl code the ability to issue a search
      against the log history text.

   - There are design questions on how this is implemented. It was
decided to table this until the next tooltime meeting on 8/27.

   - Issues include complexity and working with QBE. The two current
options include 1. a new field called "history search" and
      2. use the dialog box in Brett's implementation.

   - Other issues include "can we handle more than one word for a search?",
"if text is pasted from email, will the search span multiple lines?".

(An additional item of InformTEAM was discussed. There has been some
conversation with Scopus on issues. Need direction and resolution.
After the history search resolution, this is the next priority).

3. Documentation strategy:

   - Lynne is reviewing system level documentation from Esther and
      making corrections.

   - Lynne needs to review Tcl code as part of the review

   - This document will be distilled down to help create a baseline for
      a training documentation.

   - Lynne will send a copy of the document to Rob (and Esther?) for
review, this helps serve as a sanity check.

   - First draft due by end of day Thursday August 29.

   - Second draft due end of day September 4th

   - Final version due end of day September 6th

4. Testing strategy:

   - Tooltime team is responsible to test and comment on release 1.0b4.
Be prepared to discuss at Tuesday tooltime meeting. Rob and Peter R.
      will discuss parallel testing comments.

   - Release 1.0b5 testing to begin on September 9th (Monday) and
end at 2:00 pm on September 12th (Thursday)

   - Lynne/Peter L. expressed a desire to have the student (a.k.a.
acceptance test) be done over a Tuesday evening. It was suggested
that this would take place on September 10th.

   - Testing on September 10th to start at 5:00 pm through 6:00 PM. Follow-up
with a 20 minute discussion with Peter Lee taking notes. Format to
include parallel testing with three students (one playing the customer
role, one entering into Filemaker, one entering into Scopus). Each
      "team" to give feedback.

   - Release 1.0b5 will include history search and possible
      fixes/modifications from 1.0b4 testing.

   - 1.0b5 Testing Preparation:
      - Deliver training document (due by end of day September 6th)
      - Reload Filemaker database (to be completed September 6th)
      - Produce a new release 1.0b4 (and release notes) on Sept. 6th.
Include functions to NOT test (e.g. quick button, Midas, ADSM)

   - Discussion on the need to set expectation. Including work on future
releases. Wade will attend the Tuesday session and answer questions.
Release 1.0b5 goal is to determine if we can conduct
"business" with the existing application. We are not trying to have
the equivalent of the Filemaker system. We are trying to create a
      baseline to build.

   - Peter Lee to construct possible "futures list" as a discussion point.
This will be done prior to the September 9th student meeting and could
be used as an example of direction.

5. Next Meeting and Proposed Agenda

   The next tooltime meeting is

   August 27, 1996

   Agenda:

   1. Tooltime team update on testing. Rob and Peter R. to discuss parallel
       testing comments.
