Check this out...
Sun has announced Tcl/Tk (Tool Command Language/Tool Kit), a cross-platform
GUI Internet scripting language. A Tcl/Tk plug-in for Netscape Navigator,
makes it possible to use Tcl/Tk scripts in web pages. A downloaded Tcl
script cannot execute other programs, open files on your disk (except in
pre-defined directories), and cannot gather information about your system.
In a future release, security policies will be configurable and will allow
definition of parameters such as what portions of the file system are
readable or writable, and what set of off-site resources can communicate
with the downloaded script. A beta version of the Tcl/Tk plug-in for
Netscape Navigator, along with other Tcl software, is now available.
Support for other browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, is planned
in the near future. http://www.sun.com/960710/cover/.
