Attending: Charbonneau, Lee, Pakulat, Rosen, Saylor, Sousa, Wade, Willis
Agenda
1. 1.0b3 Testing Update
2. Other activities
3. Next Steps
1. 1.0b3 Testing, Expectations and Process
- 1.0b3 testing:
= 1.0b3 changes have been completed. No further work should be
done until after feedback and assessment meeting.
= Student data has been imported, bringing the warehouse data to
18,7xx records.
= Filemaker data port is proceeding, problems with having the
history field display with linebreaks. Should be about 800
records.
= Question: Does this contain all closed records (which would
be nice to have)? Need to check with Peter.
= Information (template from Bryn) to be sent out to
helpsummer and helpstaff for testing.
- Testers should review release notes (to compare difference between
release 1.0b2 and 1.0b3) and review the items completed from the
task list created from the 1.0b2 feedback session. Both documents
are in the tooltime discuss meeting and on the Web.
- Feedback session:
= Open to all those who tested (staff and students).
= Testing will close at noon, Wednesday July 10. Feedback to
be collated from the tooltime-bugs archive.
= Feedback meeting: Wednesday, July 10, 2:00 pm ** 16-720 **
2. Other activities:
- Documentation:
- Esther Yanow is writing two documents. One document is for
developers, and explains how the Tcl code is written - including
rules imbedded in the code. Esther is working with Lynne.
- The other document is a user guide/training document. This will
initially be a MSWORD document for Release 1.0. Future releases may
see this document be on-line (via either Windows Help files, or
stored in Oracle - as the Message of the Day is stored). Esther is
also talking to Lynne and may need to talk to Alicia, Peter and Gail.
- Supported Software Meeting:
- There will be a meeting on Wednesday July 10, 10:00 am 16-720 to
discuss the software categories and use of supported flags within
the application.
- In addition to tooltime members, Kevin C. and Mike Sampson are
invited. The purpose is to gain an understanding and needs of
the HelpDesk with regards to how consultants will interact with
this information and the process to maintain and communicate
changes. This is important to reach consensus before the
rollout of the application.
- Wade will write a list of questions in advance of the meeting.
- Scopus Win32 installer:
- Ray mentioned about problems using the Wise installer to create
a 32 bit Scopus install program for network distribution. The
problems were related to updating the Registry.
- At this time, we have suspended further work on this installer.
