Scopus Implementation
Date: May 17,1996

Working On Milestone:

- Functional specification completed on May 17

- Transition to implementation phase in progress, next milestone is
completion of first implementation on June 7.

Accomplishments:

- Delivered to team first draft and final copy of functional specification
- Completed functional specification, corrections to be sent in writing
- Completed account setup for tooltime team
- Completed first draft of design specifications
- Began exploring Scopus development tools

Goals:

- Review design specifications
- Create table in Scopus Oracle database for warehouse data
- Begin learning Scopus development tools for implementation preparation
- Complete first draft of test plan
- Install Scopus client in AFS space for ease of access
- Complete Scopus Windows installer program
- Review first draft storybook, scope statement for new business document

Issues:

- Scopus QA people working on Macintosh slow performance
   (escalated issue on May 9th).

- Load of metadata delayed due to bug, to be resolved week of May 28.

Concerns:

- Implementation is on a tight schedule. First week of implementation will
work on main help screen (entry, lookup, modify and save), second week will
focus on additional screens. Slippage in the schedule will cause some
functions to miss the first release and will need to be scheduled for
   on-going work.

- Progress on obtaining specifications for new production machine is moving
forward, but behind schedule. June 1 appears to be critical date to
obtain machine for prepping and testing.

- Need better understanding of data from warehouse, concerns include
consistency of format and case display needed for lookups.

Learning's:

- OpenHorizen in California has SQL*Net compliant middleware driver that
uses Kerberos 5.0. Possible Summer exploration of use with Scopus.
