SAP R/3 Alpha Unix or Intel NT ?

We have plan in our company to implement SAP R/3. We had standardized our
platforms to Intel base and our servers O/S to Ms Windows NT. But the SAP
implementor team recomended us to use Alpha Unix instead of Intel NT
platform. We tend to keep our standard to use Intel NT combination with some
concerns:
Single platform--> easier support,
hardware investment saving --> intel base is cheaper,
future investment protection.
So I am asking anybody to comment.
