I'm an SAP consultant who is potentially looking into getting a "real" job.
I would like you advice on what to do.
I've incorporated myself and handle my own books, find my own work, etc....
Right now I've had it pretty easy, working from home 3 out of 4 weeks and
traveling to NJ the other week. My problem is that the project isn't going
anywhere after 1 1/2 years of effort by my part, there are just too many
political battles involved, I'm not learning anything new, and get
frustrated with all the meetings and conference calls to get evereyone on
the same page. So do I continue to be an SAP consultant @ great $$$ and
almost perfect working environment? Those are the "Pros". The Cons are that
I get bored every day and I don't have alot in common with the people I work
with. I am fairly young (29) and don't want to be without work when I get
old, so I am thinking of getting out of consulting and working for a startup
company which may go public this year. If I get in now, I could be in line
for some Stock Options.
I know I should just sit back when I get bored and work on my golf game or
play on-line games or something, but I can't take it anymore.
Thanks for the feedback.
