Robert,
That seems pretty much correct. Most people I know got their
experience by working on a project for a company as an employee
and then going on from their. Because there is so much demand
now you will find that certain firms, mainly the big six such as
Deloitte ICS, Andersens and Price Waterhouse, are taking in and
training new recruits. However the pay for these people is not
so great (still good though). Some smaller organisations are
doing this too, for example Origin.
I, for one, do not work for any of the big six so this is not a
promotion for any of them.
