I wish "affordable" were another goal. The set of five soft-bound
manuals cost $162.50!

I also wonder about Statsci's upgrade policy. In their current set up
I need to have software maintenance (SM) to get the new releases. If
my SM lapses and I want upgrades, I have to pay SM for the coming year
*and* pay "back maintenance", half of the SM for the period I was not
covered, which amounts to paying for something I didn't even use. Why
doesn't Statsci charge $X for support and $Y for an upgrade and keep
these two separate? I bet a sizeable number of users never call S+
support, so why should we be forced to pay for it?

Frustrated and with an increasingly lighter wallet,

alejandro
