[77] in Layered Athena
Layer Team Meeting Minutes of 22 Sep 94
daemon@ATHENA.MIT.EDU (kcunning@MIT.EDU)
Thu Sep 22 15:03:45 1994
From: kcunning@MIT.EDU
To: layered-athena@MIT.EDU
Date: Thu, 22 Sep 1994 15:00:02 EDT
Present: brlewis, kcunning, jjmorey
Next meeting: Thursday, Oct 6, 10:00am in E40-316 [two weeks from today]
We discussed what documentation would be needed to support the HP Beta Test,
and covered the following topics:
* numbers: We thought that, as we might have perhaps 10 sites for Beta, we
will need only 15 or 20 copies of whatever we produce. This can
be done in house.
* schedule: The Beta Test is planned to begin Tuesday, October 11, so we
should have final drafts of material ready the week before
(i.e., by Oct 7 at the latest -- in fact, final drafts
presumably available at the Oct 6 meeting).
* pieces: We decided we should make available:
* an HP-oriented version of the existing USER GUIDE, including
* current material, revised to reflect HP info
* a high-profile statement that clarifies/sets
appropriate support expectations
[this info will also need to be made available
electronically (e.g., via the xlayer HELP option;
in email to prospective Beta testers, etc.]
* an indication of which subsets will NOT be available
for the HP Beta test
[draft to brlewis for technical review by Friday, 23 Sep]
[copies of final draft to jjmorey etc. for support]
* a poster that, at the HP owner's discretion, could be put
up near the machine, to alert users to facts of interest,
including:
* the fact that this machine is a test machine for
layered athena
* the status of I.S. support (e.g., "contact brlewis
rather than Consulting or Hardware Hotline if
you have Athena-related questions")
* whatever else the site system manager feels is
appropriate for the site
That was it. See you in 2 weeks!
