Next meeting: July 28, 9:30am in E40-316. tjm will join us.
We reviewed the KJ diagram about "What are the issues surrounding
supporting a multi-platform beta test?". Issues were pointed out that
brought into question the value of doing layered Athena on all
platforms:
- If we can't find beta testers for a platform, chances are we
don't have a customer base for that platform.
- No support group will have access to all the platforms Layered
Athena runs on, so the beta tester's primary support mechanism
will be the developer for whatever platform they're using.
Not all developers will have the time, desire and skills to
fill this role.
I think I've left out some issues. Please send additions to
layered-athena.
Next week tjm will join us to discuss these issues.
