I'm not sure what you mean by this.  If we have purchased N licenses for
AutoCAD, for example, how can the vendor help us from opening these N
licenses up to the entire community, thus totally messing up the courses that
rely on that application for their students?  Whether we collect $ from
Layered Athena users in order to purchase more licenses, or we restrict use
of 3partysw to "real" Athena only, we still have to have a way of restricting
who can use the stuff, and currently available technology doesn't scale.

In the long run the developers of the commercial license managers may improve
their products, but we have no leverage to force them to add these features
in the near term, nor to have the 3rd party application distributors take
advantage of these futures once they are available to them.

As for calling another meeting, yes, I think we need to discuss this further.
