replay cache files

How does one delete the replay cache? I've been using the simple
client, and I found a number of files like these in /tmp left around
after the client exited:
-rw------- 1 jfc 76 Apr 16 08:28 _sim_clt0.0.0.0,1243
-rw------- 1 jfc 76 Apr 16 08:28 _sim_clt0.0.0.0,1246
I don't see why the client needs a replay cache, since it doesn't
receive messages (is it for talking to the KDC?).
The replay cache code allows use of a replay cache owned by another
user.
