Keep Compiling Problems

I keep compiling problem after problem -- whoops!? What I mean is, I am
having problems compiling Kerberos.

I am trying to compile Kerberos V5 Release 1.0 on my RedHat Linux box.
That's RedHat v4.0, kernel v2.0.27, i386 style, on a Pentium machine.

I have, according to the instructions, run configure successfully. When
I go and type make is when the trouble starts. Everything goes fine
untill velcro, that's my box, gets to the following telnet portion.

This is cut and pasted from my terminal output:

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<BEGIN CUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
bfinley(/download/kerberos/krb5-1.0/src/appl/telnet/telnet)> make
cc -o telnet -L./../../../lib -L./../../../lib authenc.o commands.o
main.o network.o ring.o sys_bsd.o telnet.o terminal.o utilities.o
../libtelnet/libtelnet.a -lkrb4 -ldes425 -lkrb5 -lcrypto
./../../../lib/libdb.a -lcom_err
ld: cannot open output file telnet: Permission denied
make: *** [telnet] Error 1
bfinley(/download/kerberos/krb5-1.0/src/appl/telnet/telnet)>
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<END CUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Any suggested corrective action would be most appreciated.

P.S.(I have also been unsuccessful in downloading the binarys. After
receiving my magic number via email, I go back to the web page and punch
it in, and I get a spooky "You cannot get around our form..." message.
Something about coming from the wrong computer. ;) )
