It's not very useful as a run-time option, since users will either need
to always remember to turn on getting V4 tickets, or always turn off
getting V4 tickets. (Although if they forget the option to turn it off,
all that will happen is the KDC will log a unparseable packet for each
kinit.)
In order for it to be useful at all as a run-time option, there would
have to be a run-time configuration file which would have to be
consulted each time kinit ran --- something like /etc/attach.conf.
