The extra format commands at the top of the ftpd.M man page interfere
with 'catman -w' which builds the apropos database (and allows locating
the man page in the first place with a crowded MANPATH).
>How-To-Repeat:
Do a 'make; make install; catman -M /opt/krb5/man -w'
Examine the /opt/krb5/man/windex file for ftpd problems.
