Messages to krb5-bugs are being archived to a discuss meeting, and we do
track whether a particular bug has been addressed or not (using the
discuss's ability to set a flag on a per-transaction basis).
So in answer to your question, yes, your bug reports do make a
difference. Please continue sending them!!
The krb5-bugs discuss meeting is world-readable to anyone who has built
the discuss conferencing system (which is based on the Multics system's
forum subsystem, for those of you who aren't familiar with discuss but
who have Multics experience.) The location of the discuss meeting is
MENELAUS.MIT.EDU:/usr/spool/discuss/krb5-bugs.
If you'd like to try building discuss, the most recently released
version is Discuss version 1.6, available from athena-dist.mit.edu, in
the tar file /pub/athena/discuss/discuss1.6.tar.Z.
A Web interface would be wonderful, but no one has built a discuss/web
gateway server yet.

P.S. The idea of automatically sending an acknowledgement when someone
sends mail to krb5-bugs is a good one. When we have a chance, we'll
look into implementing it.
